In my high school each senior gave a short chapel in the morning. My freshman year a student played Cash’s cover of the ring of fire and watched us for his allotted time as a crucified baby doll with a 12in strap-on was slowly unveiled. Somehow, although he raised fears of disgruntled students burning their schools, there is a peaceful quality to that song, and in some way also to the burning of the souvenirs of a great man’s life, that even Mat Churchill still couldn’t shake. Its a magical exit or a fitting tribute. at least none of it will end up on e-bay now. Unless Matt gets famous, then we should keep an eye out for that dildo that shocked my prep school.
